ive been noticing that there arent all that many choices for aftermarket parts, i was thinking of having a set of pipes bent at the local preformance shop and havign the end flanges matched to a harley shape, figure vrod pipes should give me good flow and the black finish im lookin for. is there a cheaper way maybe?

I dont see anything wrong with the primary pipes. I will be going with modded TOR shorties or a two into ones, custom bent. Are you thinking of V&H Muscle mufflers?

i was thinking of these , and having the pipes blacked out to match, maybe upgrade the pipe size 1/16th" depending on what size the valves are. im goin to lookin into the airbox aswell and see hows thats set up and if i can upgrade the box/filter

Got it, the popular wisdom right now is to remove the false seat pan and get some more seat flow.

I've looked at the V&H stuff and there is a fair bit of work involved blending the vertical arrangement to fit the horizontal arrangement of the "bird set up...that is unless you are going to go with everything from the head back.

The great thing about the Tbird, or any triumph for that matter is just owning a stock one gets you the title of "going where FEW men have gone before". Maybe i'm not 100% unique, but it's close enough. A lot better than harley, which earns you the title of "going where everyone on earth has gone ad nausium before".

So it's good enough for me, especially considering i find the stock bike nearly perfect aside from the few little things i already changed.

yea im not doin the arrangement just the pipes just like the widow mufflers. the tourers have the 1 per side just like us but i thing the mounting brackets are on the tops of the pipes

I love the stock bird - I dont even like haveing the sissy bar on (the paperwork if mrs1600 fell off would ruin the day). I am not planning any big mods other than what I need at the time for a tour or two.

If you go with large headers and open exhaust, I calculated will lower torque. But, large primaries with stepped up secondaries,
another step up for the 2-1 collector and step up for an open exhaust = 10 more TQ.
